Bob will have a hard day tomorrow! I am having a hot drink and then I'll do a bit of gentle wood bothering in the back yard.....

I've allowed myself to be diverted into a walk, supervising traffic and shopping for milk and onions and will admit I am having trouble screwing myself down to wood-bothering! This is not the end of the world....

I shall go in the shed early doors and work on my castings and then have another attempt later on after second sleep to do my wood-bothering.... Unlikely though it sounds, I need to fry my sweet potato chips some time today....

I spent half an hour on refining my castings after painting, overspray needed to be polished off. Tomorrow I shall put the flywheel in the lathe and polish that. I'll attempt wood bothering when it gets daylight but right now to target is breakfast.

Morning
Surprisingly Bob had a quiet day at the park. It seems there were a number of activities going on around Rochdale and of course people were enjoying the weather at home. I spent most of the day indoors sewing just pottering out into the garden every now and again. When Bob got back he cooked ‘ chicken under a brick’ on the BBQ and we ate out in the garden which was very pleasant by 7.00 pm. Our garden gets full sun during the day but from about 5.00 pm it goes into the shade, with just a little sun left in the bottom corner. We ate there under the trees.
Today is due to be extremely hot. Claire Adam and Erin are coming for a BBQ lunch. I think we may eat the food inside where it will be cooler. Have a good day everyone

I have done what I have to outside while it is still cool Sue.

I conquered my antipathy towards wood bothering. I have cut the ornament on a couple of plinths and given them a coat of raw linseed oil.....

I have improved the shining hour and have fried my sweet potato chips, washed my pans and put everything away. That's quite enough honest endeavour for one day, I shall watch the temperature climb.

Very warm night so I think I'll take a day off from the shed and get back for a good second sleep.
I have to attend to weed killing on my paths later.... Just the right weather for it.

84F in the shed this morning so I think I'll pass on work on my castings and get my pork in the slow cooker instead as it is going to be a cooler day today so cooking won't be a pain.....
Later at 04:00..... The pork is cooking, I have had my breakfast and now I'm going back to bed.... See you all later!

Re: Today I shall be Mainly...
Morning
I don’t think I wrote yesterday, nothing much happened as I stayed inside in the cool most of the day. Today will be more bearable. I drafted a pattern for a pair of trousers for Lucy so they are ready for her to start when she gets back from France and when she can fit it in round her exams.
Today we are going to the Italian restaurant with the husband of a very good friend and colleague of mine. She died from sepsis just over two years ago. At Christmas Peter said he would like to meet up. We may have a walk round the lake afterwards .
I have to phone the GP to make an appointment to discuss my xray. I basically know what it says as it is a repeat xray from two years ago, I just want to know if there is deterioration and if so what to do about it.
Have a good day all

Morning
We had a very good afternoon with our friend yesterday and he seems to be slowly adjusting to his single life. We enjoyed our meal then had a very windy walk round Hollingworth Lake . Its just over two miles and on the flat and yesterday was full of families having a stroll and eating ice creams bought at the small café half way round.
This morning we have no plans but this afternoon we have to go to a medical centre in Oldham where I am having a small biopsy on a skin blemish I have had for years. Hopefully it is nothing sinister. With the new appointment system at our surgery I have at last been able to see a GP about a few small health issues that have been lurking in the background, like my back xray and this skin problem. Basically I am ticking them off a list as they are dealt with
We have just had a huge thunderstorm , but now calming down though thunder is still rattling around. It should clear by 10.26 degrees is forecast. Have a good day all

Morning
Today I have a sore leg following my punch biopsy, it feels a bit like a bad graze. My appointment was 2.50 pm, in the centre pf Oldham at some new facilities, it even had free car-parking for an hour, with an extension if you were delayed. We arrived twenty minutes early, I was seen early and back in the car by 3.00 pm. My recent experience of health care appointments around here is that things are running quickly and efficiently .
After the initial thunderstorm yesterday turned out to be a nice day. I did some gardening in the morning, planting runner beans and a few different squash plants, as well as doing a bit of light weeding. Today is cloudy with a more realistic temperature of 19 degrees. One more warm dry day left then we are heading for several days of rain, great for my plants and seeds
Today’s plans are a relaxed morning sewing followed by lunch out. I have to rest my leg with no sporting activity till the stitches ( soluble ones) start to heal so I will not be doing pilates or yoga for a bit. We are calling at the local garden centre on the way to the restaurant as I want some courgette plants if there are any.

I needed a collar on the flyshaft to position the flywheel away from the Base. This needed to be 1/2" external and 3/8" internal so I made this and fitted it on the shaft. Another small but accurate step forward. Now for breakfast.

Morning
A nice sunny morning bue due to cloud over. I managed to get the vegie plants I wanted and after we came home from our lunch out I planted them. The cabbages are covered by a wonderful plant protection net courtesy of Temu. Exactly what I was looking for over three years ago,. It is a solid folding netted frame that when up it exactly fits the troughs that I grow some of my vegetables in.
Today is an at home day. I shall change the bedding taking advantage of the last fully dry day to dry it outside. Then it’s sewing for me as I finish my version of the dress Lucy made. Bob is off to an engineer friend this afternoon for a cuppa and a natter.

Morning Sue.... Glad all is going well. I am up after a big second sleep. Second sleep is my main sleep these days, I don't know what triggered the shift. My attitude is don't fight it, accept it and enjoy the sleep. I am having a hot cup of tea and then I'll go for my milk and anything else that takes my fancy....
