Yesterday afternoon maintained the earlier promise. It remained bright but with a distinct chill. The night was overcast but dry. This morning it is still overcast and misty, we have a light breeze and it's cold. The glass has risen and is on 994mb. The easterly winds will start light and become moderate. We can expect a high of 4C and a low tonight of 1C. The wind chill will start at -3C and gradually increase with the wind to -5C this evening. This will give us an actual temperature of below freezing all day but dry. The next six days will be slightly warmer but heavily overcast with the chance of light rain....

Lightly overcast, no breeze and it doesn’t feel like warming up.

Yesterday afternoon was a descent into gloom again and it went dark early. We have had an overcast windy night and whilst it is dry at the moment it is very cold. The glass is down on 989mb and the forecast is for wintry showers starting shortly. The ESE wind will be moderate all day gusting to almost 35mph. We can expect a high of 5C and a low of 4C tonight with a wind chill of -6C at the moment which will gradually reduce with the wind later. The effect is a perceived temperature of -4C at the moment..... The outlook is slightly warmer but continued heavy overcast and showers....

We've settled down to being damp windy and cold. You can't really call it rain and we have seen nothing of the snow that was threatened.

Yesterday afternoon was overcast and breezy but drier and brightened slightly as we neared dusk. We had a breezy night with light rain and this morning that is still the situation, breezy, overcast and light rain. The glass is down on 982mb and still tending to fall slowly. The forecast is for an overcast day with constant light rain. The constant south easterly winds will be moderate and at the moment are gusting to 30mph. They will ease slightly during the day. We can expect a high of 7C and a low of 4C tonight with a wind chill that starts this morning at -4C.Tomorrow will be a bit brighter but after that we revert to overcast weather much the same as today.

I won’t go on about how awful our weather has been, day and night, not to mention the strong hot winds, day and night.
.
We have much more manageable temperatures coming. 😊 I enjoyed watching some lightning during the night, but sadly there was no thunder.
.
No rain in sight.

Yesterday afternoon was drier and brighter than the forecast. At dusk we had broken cloud and a calm clear night. Later on the overcast thickened and we had light rain. This morning it is calm, cool and we have light rain under a heavy overcast. The glass has risen and is up on 995mb. The forecast is for a bright overcast day with light showers. The southerly winds will be light and we can expect a high of 8C and a low of 3C tonight with a wind chill that will never be greater than -2C. The outlook for the next six days is for heavy overcast with light showers and on the whole cooler than today.

We have a covering of light cloud, and it’s quite mild, if it stays like this all day, we will have had a good day.

Yesterday afternoon was never completely dry but you couldn't say it rained. We had a quiet night with broken cloud for overcast and a hint of mist. That's what we have this morning and the glass has risen to 995mb and is tending to rise further. The forecast is for a dry day with bright overcast and mist until mid morning than heavy overcast for the rest of the day. The constant east wind starts light but gradually increases throughout the day and this afternoon will be moderate and gusting to almost 35mph. We can expect a high of 6C and a low tonight of 2C. We start the day with a -2C wind chill but by late afternoon it will be -5C. The outlook is for cooler heavily overcast weather with perhaps wintry showers mid-week.

Been to Sheffield today to scope out the locations for the wedding on the 21st. The wind was very cold there, it didn't rain though which was a bonus.

Yesterday was cold and we have had an overcast but dry night. This morning it's overcast and damp, like yesterday, not proper rain just damp enough to stop the flags from drying out. Th glass is on 994mb and tending to fall. The forecast is for a cold overcast day with a strong wind but hopefully dry. The constant east wind is brisk and will gust to 35mph all day. We can expect a high of 2C and a low tonight of 1C. The wind chill is -5C at the moment and by Dawn will be -6C and that will be constant all day. The perceived temperature will never rise above freezing. The rest of the week will be slightly warmer and heavily overcast with the exception of Friday which could see some wintry showers. It could be much worse, remember the old saw.... "February fill-dyke, black or white."

It's bitter out there. I have no difficulty in believing the Met Office figure of -6C in the wind chill....

Just got a yellow warning for snow and ice from the Met Office, not sure how reliable it is but this evening into Wednesday is expected to see up to 3cm.
