We ate out twice in Leeds yesterday. Lunch before the theatre at a small Italian cafe about 100 yards down from the theatre. I had a chicken, bacon and mayo sandwich which arrived as a Panini variant on home made Focaccia, very tasty. Christmas Market with lots of food vendors was running in City Square on our way back to the station so we ate on the hoof so to speak, I found a Wild Boar burger with onions and cheese. I didn't fancy the Ostrich or Kangaroo variants that were also available.

How the other half live! :laugh5:
I had chicken and veggies X three with a mid morning snack of a helping of twice fried chips that was very nice. The Co-op sell once fried chips that you fry again to get the above and there was a pack on sell-by sale when I went for my milk.

It looks as though you scored a hit Kev.... An interesting platter!
Here at Graham Towers we had chicken and veggies and during the day I fried my sweet potato chips. The butcher delivered at 05:30 so we have pork belly to consider. I need oranges and onions!

It was delicious, the t-bone was pre sliced making it easier to pick from the serving plate. There was a rich gravy, roasted cherry tomatoes, a chimichurri sauce, half a bulb of roasted garlic, pea shoots and a pot of triple cooked chips. A nice indulgence.
This afternoon I got the food processor out and thinly sliced some potatoes, layered them up with smoked streaky bacon, extra mature cheddar cheese and poured a garlic and onion bechamel over the top. A bit more grated cheese and 60 minutes, covered, in a 160C oven then uncovered at 200C for 30 minutes. It was very tasty.

McDonalds McGrinch Adult Happy Meal. Rather too calorie packed but once a year is enough. McPlant burger with lettuce Mayo "American Cheese" tomato slice and the bread roll. Chips (Fries) with DIY to add salty seasoning , Choice of Drink (Coconut syrup in coffee latte ( other options avalible ), I was tempted to pass the bits on to the street beggards / Big Issue Sellers outside but really did not want to inflict it on them ( they never seem to want my mums home made sandwhiches ), and a flow wrapped paper packet of a "pair" of socks in odd - colour complementary - socks - light blue vs yellow for my random duo I think red vs green may be avalible too. Unlike Kids Happy Meals one doesnt get colourful box for the meal to go in (shame). Total cost £2 VAT to the Government £8 to the local franchise or about1.40hours of work after tax at min wage these days. Made up with buying tea from the markdowns use bys in Sainsburys two egg custards for 79p

I prepared three meals but one of them (dinner) didn't get eaten because after my Co-op trip to get my oranges for the pork belly I boiled th sprouts for an extender and couldn't resist eating a few. They are incredibly filling and after that I didn't fancy any dinner.

I fell into the same trap again yesterday when I went to the Co-op for my milk. I bought some sprouts and boiled them for a treat. This was compounded by the fact that today I was dealing with the slow cooking of the pork belly. After putting most of it in with the veggies I had a bit left and this was joined by some sprouts that wouldn't fit in with the veggies.
Couldn't resist it and ate them for dinner. Sprouts and rich gravy and meat.... What's not to like!
(Breakfast and tea was meat and veggies.)

The meat and veggies is doing well. It makes catering for three hot meals a day so easy!

One good consequence of my broken hours is that I am eating four small meals a day equally distanced. Yesterday I had three helpings of meat and veggies and one small meal of oatcakes with soft cheese topping.

Three hot main meals and a top-up of oatcakes if I feel the need. I suppose I ought to weigh myself.... these extra meals must be having an effect! But flu season is not the best time to duet and feel hungry.
