Re: Today I shall be Mainly...

Our regular Family History sessions in Colne Library have turned into social get togethers now, and we don't get many customers wanting help. This could be due to the library management ignoring our presence! Yesterday we all gathered at my house for coffee and then lunch. It was a lovely day despit...

Re: TODAY'S PENNINE WEATHER

Heavy rain here in the early hours but it has eased off now. It isn't getting light, if anything it's getter darker and I can see a wall of cloud and rain out to the west!

Re: Today I shall be Mainly...

When we got new phones there was an issue with WhatsApp transferring to the new phones. Col looked into it and came up with a simple solution that worked. Shame I can't remember. Is there a QR code in the app?

It's a bit wild out there this evening. Wind gusting to 50mph which wasn't in the forecast.

Re: TODAY'S PENNINE WEATHER

It's a fine start here too. I've got a local tree surgeon cutting back my very overgrown hedge. It's due to get wet and wild this afternoon so they made an early start.

Re: LIGHTS IN THE SKY 2025

I've asked AI how to do it (again). You change the subject title in the very first post, which should change the topic title and all posts after this one. Here goes!

Unfortunately it didn't work Ian, the title only changed in your post and I can't remember how I managed to change it to 2025!

Re: MYSTERY OBJECTS

I remember this road from journeys around Scotland back in the 1960s. I can't tell you where it is but there is an optical illusion which suggests that you are going up hill when you are actually going down.

Re: LIGHTS IN THE SKY 2025

Is there a problem? Stanley wanted the topic title changed to 2025 as he had failed to do it. Changing the title of the topic only changes the subject title in each post from the point a change is made. So all posts before today's are still saying 2013. Nothing is lost!

I think I've done it. Subsequent posts should show 2025 in the title though previous ones remain the same.

Re: Today I shall be Mainly...

A local tree surgeon is coming to cut my overgrown hedge back today. It will be a relief to get it done, it's a job that Col and I hadn't got round to for a few years. It's not going to be an easy job, especially as the field side is already very wet. I lied! Although I had written today on the cal...

Re: Today I shall be Mainly...

Might be worth adding some dye to the water which you think is the source, that will clarify where it’s coming from, then it can be investigated further and dealt with. I'm working on that Gloria. I need to get some dye. I've tried soapy water in what I thought was the most obvious source but that ...

Certainly worth some exploratory digging where Colin was making changes, should be relatively easy digging if it's already been dug up. How are your digger driving skills?

Re: Today I shall be Mainly...

I just need to establish where the water is coming from. I wish it was as simple as Stanley suggests but for a start it's emerging from underneath huge old setts so digging isn't straightforward. I think there is possibly a blockage or failure higher up and it's underground to that point. Water is ...

Re: Today I shall be Mainly...

There is one problem that has me beaten at the moment, which is water springing from the ground infront of the barn door. It is running steadily out and down towards the gate making everywhere wet and muddy. It can only be a blocked land drain somewhere and I need to try and discover where! This is...
