Physio this morning, how can such a small woman have such strong hands. I'll know about it tomorrow but it's getting better
same as short men make quite good weightlifters , shorter muscles can create more pull or push force ( its probably an inverse square rule)
For others on Pharmacies in London we have some massive ones , I part I think to overseas persons living here who dont qualify for NHS stuff so lots of funny jabs for far away diseases and other health services selling well person checkups presumably reclaimable from Bupa membership and so forth.

Meningitis spread.
Messaging from Govt was it was a disease difficult to catch. The numbers reporting seem to show different. I dont blame the Govt as such but has the department of health been caught out in not working out what to do when incidencies start rising rapidly.
Back to general Pharmacy stuff . It does seem there are shortages , or erractic delivery of supplies , of certain medications. this may be change in demand (increasing) or brexit trade frictions.

The pre op appointment, for my cataract surgery, came through last night. April 16th so not long to wait. A friend of Paulette had hers done at the same clinic, they did the surgery the day after the pre op appointment so I will leave it all in the hands of the NHS

I remember it as being an exciting time Kev, even though in my case I got a complication....
On another matter, can you have a look at the image on Forgotten Corners please? Wendy and I think it's wrong and we need an image search if that's possible.....

As Wendy says, nothing comes up so the image isn't online anywhere. I have done a bit more research and the results are in Forgotten Corners.

I can't grumble about Everest.... I found the pills they owed me from my last prescription in the letterbox this morning. They must have delivered after 17:00 yesterday.....

Some of you might remember that a few years ago I decided to try doing away with my pillows on the bed to try to improve my back. It worked and since then I have only had a towel on the bed. I have been noticing several vague pains lately and after a bit of though decided to try using a pillow again.
It seems to be working. Early days but there has been a definite improvement. It remains to be seen if I am affecting my back again.... Onwards and upwards!

The improvements have continued and most impressive is the fact that the swelling in my legs has gone down a lot and at the same time I have less pain..... I never expected that!

Experience has taught me not to clap hands to soon. I am feeling a bit delicate this morning, it gets me to thinking and it's bad for me!

I'm pretty sure that I could take off the immediate dressing that I did when I cut my finger but I am going to give it another day. No pain or throbbing, I think it is behaving itself!

Here's a treat for you. I took the dressing off my finger so I could give it a couple of hours of fresh air before putting a new lighter dressing on to replace the original. I know it doesn't look very beautiful but it's actually doing quite well. No swelling or inflammation and the flap of skin is healing in the right place.... I might chance a bit of Germolene as well.......

Crikey, wasn’t expecting that image to pop up

.
Good luck with the healing.. It takes a bit longer as we get older.

Sorry about that Cathy. It's a lot better than it looks and is safely protected again under a new, more tidy dressing.

Time will tell Kev but I am considering taking the big dressing off and just keeping it clean with a plaster.... It has healed up extremely well!

Later, after I stopped doing things with hot chicken and roasting tins.... I have taken the dressing off, trimmed the dead skin off the actual loose flap that is healing back in place and letting my finger have fresh air and daylight. I shall decide what to do about replacing the dressing later..... I am very pleased with it!

Be good to let it dry out a bit, be careful not to catch it on anything (voice of experience here).

Stanley, have you thought of using some Spray On Skin, Elastoplast sell it.

It's dried out nicely and I have cleaned it up and trimmed the dead bits off. I shan't be putting any dressing on it, I shall just let it enjoy freedom (And yes Kev, I hear you , I shall be very careful with it... but worth the risk I think)
I don't like that spray on skin Cathy.... far better to let the air get to it.

I don't think Spamedica want me to forget my pre op appointment on Thursday, I've had an email and text message every day since Friday.

Nice to know they are being attentive Kev!
Here's the state of play with my finger..... No dressing and doing well. One more cautious day today of declining the shed and then back to normal tomorrow.

A good news letter arrived yesterday, the results of my yearly MRI scan. The tumour, on my pituitary, is still responding to the medication and hasn't grown since it's decrease in size in January 2025
