It’s the one called Holidays are Coming. Features animals and of course the Coca Cola trucks.

There are a few static adverts on the tube platform lobbies , I wonder who has time to see them when one is passing by. The large walled adverts I think one was for some 500 year old foreign alcoholic beverage

Looking at Xmas advertising the real blanket coverage this year has been millions spent o9n advertising the Baerskin fleece jacket. It's quite possibly a good jacket but it is high price and hyped more than any decent product needs. I think it has been more an exercise in marketing than tailoring.

£79.00 not overly excessive for such a garment, (from their website, discounted, (wonder why) from £199 which is excessive) Others makes are available of course.

I assume made in China / Vietnam/ Bangladesh / Cambodia

The Norway fleece I got instead was £51 and is incredibly warm and light. (Modern textile technology).

Damn Christmas tree is shedding its foliage already. Each time Buster gets close, he swishes his tail and more baubles land on the floor along with 2kg of needles. Don't think it's going to last....

The strange desire to haul external foliage into a small urban house or flat baffles me. We did it one year , needles dropped into the radiogram and was finding them years later. Christmas Trees and Cats dont mix either.
There is a form of therapy I guess adding greenery in some places - the resin smell of pine etc may be antiseptic and house cleansing too , and adding lights ( not put any up this year which is a bit silly ) when its dark outside does make things feel a bit homely.

Oh dear Julie..... I don't do Xmas decorations so I don't have that problem but I remember how annoying it is!

Part of my research into the advent of Christianity and the connection with Pagan customs reminded me that this is the root of bringing greenery to the church. In Germany in 2000 I saw green boughs being laid against a church to celebrate Mary Himmelfart. The compulsion goes deep.

I will say that although the tree fails as an object of decoration, the smell from it in the morning is delicious! 4 more baubles lost yesterday, nothing below 2'6" now!

Stanley, the time is getting closer. This year their Christmas Tree is raised off the floor.

Generally had our tree raised on a stool effort for many years.
Others dont like it but the running gag in Mrs Browns Boys Christmas Specials of rogue christmas trees and decorations appeals to me.

Has anyone else noticed the news that Coca Cola are ditching the US?

There looks to have been a few changes, not sure if they're ditching the US completely. It's a pretty big market to walk away from.

There was a bit of a hoo-ha earlier this year about sugar content...

They're not leaving the US but are closing some plants and also changing the packaging of some products to plastic.

Supermarket sales fell for the fourth month in a row, while discounts at retailers across November did not lift Black Friday spending as much as in recent years, the Office for National Statistics (ONS) said. Sales volumes fell by 0.1% last month, against analysts' expectations of a 0.4% increase. However, sales over recent months have risen thanks to more computers, clothing and furniture purchases. A separate survey released on Friday suggested shoppers have been willing to spend in the lead-up to Christmas, with consumer confidence in December matching a 16-month high. The GfK consumer confidence survey also found households were feeling better about the prospects for their finances in the year ahead than previously, although sentiment remains subdued.

Christmas shopping was easy this year, everyone got gift cards for various things. Eldest offspring's brood has Sainsbury's, middle has Tesco and youngest has 'multi' restaurant. Youngest grandson has a blanket with photographs on it, hopefully he'll be pleased with that
