Wonderful! I sent it to Strobes at PE....
Today is Fellsman Day. Up early, lots to do before 07:30 when we set off....
Brazil must be a nation in shock this morning......
Four professional cleaners will be working in Graham Towers all day giving it a deep clean. Will I recognise the place when I come back?

Have a great day, Stanley, I envy you. Plenty of photos please, especially as you go over Ribblehead Viaduct.

I wonder how long it'll take him to get the house back to normal? I have a mental picture of four people in NBC suits carrying out black sacks and filling a Pickford's van.

That's a bit harsh Tiz. I've done the full tour, quite enjoyed it, and survived the experience. I think two would be enough.

I had a meeting at Clitheroe this morning. As I was passing through Chatburn and over the railway bridge, guess what was travelling under it. (Didn't see any Pickford vans though.)

Great pic for a great day Stanley, looking forward to the rest. Perhaps you should put them on a topic of their own-----??

I think we have enough topics Gloria! Here's one Susan sent me this morning. The Lad attacking his full English. Not a pretty sight!

By the way, I noticed a pain in my neck when I look right. I realised this morning it was caused by looking through the window of the train! (Same seat in both directions....)

What grabbed my attention today was the 17% increase in our Co-op home insurance policy premium compared with last year. Naturally, I set off asking for quotes from other companies but found them all quoting the same figure to within a couple of pounds and all the same as the 17% higher Co-op quote. It looks like the insurers have decided that anyone who lives within what they would define as the Somerset Levels is a 17% bigger risk than a year ago - regardless of whether they live on high ground outside the flood plain. Another cunning wheeze?

A picture sent to me by my friend of his 100 year old mother looking at the WW1 memorial at St Matthew's church Burnley. She was born in April 1914 and is still as bright as a bobbin.

Brilliant pic P! I've pinched it and will use it anonymously in one of my WW1 articles if you don't object.
I heard a piece on the news this morning about Separatists in Ukraine taking a tank from a museum to use against the Kiev government. It reminded me that when the War Department gave us the Letcliffe tank they disabled the guns and the engine so the lads couldn't use it for the expected revolution!

Almost Gloria. It's the Stanier 2-8-0 heavy freight loco that they built for fast goods trains. It handled the big train well over the climbs.
Deutchland Uber Alles! I'll bet the Brazilians are glad it wasn't Argentina....
