Is there a family celebration planned for your birthday on Saturday, Stanley?

I don't know about Rochdale Sue, but the remarkable thing about the weather in Barlick today is how stable it is, there is almost no variation at all in any of the parameters throughout the day. Even the wind speeds stay the same. For that reason , as soon as I have had a hot drink I shall have my short walk to the Co-op for my milk. Then I shall have second breakfast and think about what mischief I can get up to...... It won't be gardening.....

Just back from milk shopping at Co-op. Very light breeze and mizzle. Things could be a lot worse!

I shall be in the shed early doors for an hour and then after second sleep I expect a visit from Susan, they arrived in town for the flash mob on Saturday at the Tempest...
Later.... domestic matters intervened and shed was declined this morning..... No rush, one of the advantages of being your own boss!

Morning

It was a good mornings sewing with Maxine. We resolved a couple of issues with my suit jacket and also adapted a pattern for a summer dress as well as having a good natter. Bob finished the wallpaper stripping in the lounge so we can progress to painting. We have opted to finish the lounge before moving on to the dining room to reduce the overall mess at any one time. Our friend Kath called round in the afternoon with a birthday card for Bob and stayed for an hour or so for a cuppa and a chat. Which reminds me I must phone my friend Wendy in Norden. I haven’t seen her since before Christmas.

This morning I shall go for a swim, Bob has an engineer friend calling round for a coffee and a chat. This afternoon I think we may start the painting, ceiling edges today and perhaps gloss tomorrow. Rain is forecast. Have a good day all

Susan and Mick visited yesterday and Susan vacuumed round and changed my duvet covers.
No visit today, they are going to Skipton. I shall try to do better with the shed this morning and will probably spend what promises to be a cold day indoors doing a bit of light housework.

One small task this morning. Make the eccentric rod and fit it to the valve rod clevis. 45 minutes of quiet careful work and we have it finished and error-free. Nice! Now for breakfast.

Change of plan. For some reason I didn't feel like second sleep so I cut my pork belly up instead and got it going in the slow cooker with oranges, tomatoes and onions. If I get sleepy I can always have a dadnap!
Later.... I have improved the shining hour by mopping the vinyl floor in the kitchen with surface cleaner and disinfectant.....

Afternoon

Busy morning again. Bob has started some wall papering I have been for a swim and Lucy is due any time soon . Snow forecast later . Have a good day all

I shall be in the shed for an hour early doors doing useful things to my engine. We are in the final stages of the build now. Susan will visit later this morning and I have an idea she wants to do a thorough vacuum of my stairs......

This morning was spent refining the fit of the valve rod in the clevis and the valve itself. I am now at the stage where I can go forward with the eccentric and valve train. But at the moment breakfast is top of the agenda!

Yes Stanley the snow did not materialise, its just another grey cold damp day. Its art at Todmorden today, followed by the usual Friday lunch out. We would not have ventured out if the so called ‘wall of snow had arrived. So that will be our day, have a good one.

We have snow.

We have odd bits of snow floating about, and by odd I mean very few.

We have enough snow now for the roofs to be white...... Not heavy but definitely snowing!

I shan't attempt to go in the shed today, I am too busy replying to emails giving birthday wishes. After second sleep I have to scrub up ready for my 12:30 lunch at the Tempest Arms.... I have a feeling that celebration might take up the time until bed-time!

Happy birthday Stanley and you are welcome. Have a wonderful day . Today my Dad would have been 109, not impossible it seems as a lady from Burnley was 109 this week apparently . Hope the snow has gone , we didn’t get any, just a little sleet at one point . You don’t want snow spoiling your day today.

Not sure of pur plans, we shall see. It may be wallpapering for Bob and sewing for me, or something else. Have a good day all, especially Stanley

It was a good day Sue and an unexpected treat was Yiota and Ashley turned up with my latest Great Grand Daughter Demetra....



It was a wonderful but tiring day and I shall be going back to bed early again instead of going in the shed..... Later today Mick and Susan are coming to power wash my back yard....... That's the summit of my ambition for the day.
