Got back yesterday from our trip to the theatre in Leeds. I took Sally to see "The Magic of the Beatles". A live evening show. The four lads representing the Fab Four were all superb musicians and played representations of the music from all of the Beatles varied eras. They came with Scouse banter as well. It was hard to tell some of the renditions from the originals to be honest. Stage graphics supported the development of the music throughout the 60's. We had an overnight stay as it was nearly 10pm when the performance finished. I booked breakfast as well so we were well fed before checking out and doing a bit of shopping on the way back down to the train station. A nice couple of days.

Sounds like a good example of a 'City Break'....

Aye, we both enjoyed it.
Meant that we missed two gym sessions so this mornings was the first for me since last Friday. Not to onerous but you definitely knew you had been well tested. Each exercise is 40 seconds (or so) with a 10 second rest then repeat. Wall sit with weighted biceps curls, Hip Thrust and hold for 40 secs with a 50Kg weight on your lap x 2, laid down dumb bell bicep thrust, Spinner Bike for 2 x 40 secs, Standing Hold 15Kg above your head for the duration x 2. Wall rope assisted squat 2 x 40. Dead Bug with alternate heel touches 2 x 40, 10k slam Ball 2 x 40. Floor stretches to cool down and relax. Good session.

. I find that putting my socks on is quite a taxing work-out! Well done Ian!

Evo 60 class went OK this morning. 1 hour duration, legs, core and upper body delivered by Tracey. I can't do the body hang for 40 seconds so I do a farmers carry instead 40 - 50kg or so four times the length of the gym. My weaker right leg and non functional ankle and toes puts me on the leg machine. I can do double the lift up on my left than on the right. My drop foot has improved though since I started regular gym sessions. I can walk more heel first on the right a lot easier.

Pendle Hippodrome for an evening of Musicals by Candlelight. I'm sure I'll sing along, much to the horror of the test of the audience

Thank God I don't need aids like that David! I described it as taxing, not impossible..... I quite like taxing, it keeps you active. Like having stairs, a good work-out.

Oswaldtwistle Mill, found some new bedding and some James Pringle tee shirts in the sale. Was going to have a coffee but the cafes were shut.

I last went there in the year 2000. To see a masterclass in Appalachian Clog Dancing. Just to watch you understand.
Next day, having seen an advert - we went to the nearby Catholic club in their upper room to see "the "world champion" violinist Pierre Schryer. A class act. Fresh from Canada via the Fleetwood folk festival, and the Western Isles. His "sweetheart" played the trumpet - both in Oswaldtwistle, and in the Kiev Symphony Orchestra.

Here's video of him playing. Click on 'interview'.

We went to Grane Mill at Haslingden on Wednesday, we got a tour by our nephew who is a volunteer. Itβs in dire need of someone with the knowledge to raise funds. It could possibly be linked with the East Lancashire Railway, but that would also need someone with knowledge. It would be really sad to see it go under. There is some amazing machinery there, they are doing a lot but it would appear they need help.

I'm not allowed to wear anything white, or with white in it, especially if I'm drinking red wine.
The James Pringle tee shirts are currently two for Β£13

I fully appreciate the reasoning. Bolognese sayce and BBQ are also risky food sources
