Today we are off to Bressingham Steam Museum to a model train show (to celebrate 200 years etc). They also have a garden centre there and as described by the name, a Steam Museum. We went there decades ago and had a footplate ride on the Oliver Cromwell. We have a really good garden centre in Thetfo...

Today I was pulling up dead and dying weeds. I'm not sure what the big ones were but they took some killing. It reminded me of the bog bodies dug up from a bog where they'd been killed in numerous ways. However weed killer and boiling water were my preferred methods.

Kier can do without any advice from him! Aligning ourselves with Europe has never been so important. We also have a record number of Americans seeking UK residency (Home Office figures), make of that what you will.

Today we're meeting with some old friends for lunch. I've known him since 1976 and her since about 1977. It's a friendship where it doesn't need to be reinforced, we could (and have) left it a couple of years between seeing each other but we just pick up where we left off. I'm breaking my diet espec...

Re: Seen in the News
Two flying cars have collided during an air show rehearsal in China designed as a showcase for the technology. After the mid-air crash, one of the vehicles fell to the ground and caught fire on impact, with reports that a pilot was injured. Footage circulating on Chinese state-run media showed the t...

Re: POLITICS CORNER
It strikes me that the Labour party must have done b*gger all preparation for getting into power. It is basic stuff that they are getting wholly wrong (beside their ideology) and all of that makes me think that they thought nothing through as far as what the consequences were. After so many years of...

Charles et al can all breathe a sigh of relief, the pomp and circumstance all went down well. We practice it rather than winging it so the result was as it should be for any foreign dignatory.

Toad in the hole for us, the weather gave us the appetite for comfort food. The yorkshire didn't rise as much as wanted, the temperatures and timing were all out so I rather expected that. We had a rather nice onion gravy with it which made up for the flat yorkshire.

I'm pleased that he is being kept away from the public. It does Charles no favours for Trump to refer to him as a friend.

I lost my clutch at a barriered and signalled railway crossing, only realising it when the barriers went up and I stayed stationary. I had just passed my test and didn't have a clue what to do apart from repeat each action in the same order as I had been taught. I had a truck driver behind me, who r...

It's chucking it down here as well, and if the forecast is to be believed it will be until 18.00 tonight or so. I've cleaned the bathroom, as per the rota, where does all the dog hair come from. By reason he should be bald with all the hair he loses! Steve however, never seemed to shed much in the b...

I started to sort out the jewellery yesterday morning. It sounds like a wonderful task except that I had inherited a small jewellery mine when mother died. Mostly I sold it unchecked. There was just so much of it that I was overwhelmed, but I managed to gather wedding rings and the like. I also had ...

We had a lady at work, many moons ago, who deserved the title Mrs. Malaprop! She had a terrible pain down her face and said she was coming down with nostalgia. Pain ain't what it used to be.

I find it hard to believe that they have been in power for over a year now. I know that they have changed some things and they are measuring those with whatever metric they find useful, but I don't see much improvement in things that affect average people. That is no reason though for the frightful ...

Today, Monday, is living room and dining room - according to my schedule. I always had 2 lists at work, one for scheduled tasks and one for other stuff which I sorted into 4 sections: important / not important and urgent and not urgent. I've just found out this is the Eisenhower matrix. It served my...

We had Chinese take-away but from a different establishment. We turned up to our normal one only to find it closed, I imagine from the notice on the door that a family holiday is being had. We drove off to a different place that we knew of and it was, of course, okay. You do get used to one style of...

On the same topic as above, at a press conference Trump was asked how he was feeling after the last 2 1/2 days, obviously a questions about emotions. He could have been forthright and said he was upset on a personal level, he could have said that whilst he was upset, he was hoping that the guy's fam...
